Samsung BlackJack i607 come with HSDPA support, great streaming media options and its slim design, the Samsung BlackJack i607 vaults ahead of the smartphone pack. The lack of Wi-Fi wasn’t a deal-breaker for us thanks to the Samsung BlackJack i607′s 3.5G network support, and the excellent Picsel viewer, coupled with the tethered modem support (both of which the Dash lacks) give this phone the edge. That said, the Samsung BlackJack i607 can’t edit office documents, and we were annoyed by its smallish screen, coupled with a too-large default font. Those who really need Wi-Fi and document editing should consider the Cingular 8525, which is launching on the same day as the BlackJack, albeit for twice the price. There are Samsung BlackJack i607

Pros of Samsung BlackJack i607: High-speed network. Cingular Video and Cingular Music support. Stereo Bluetooth support. Solid calling capabilities.
Cons of Samsung BlackJack i607: No Wi-Fi support. No Office documents editing. Easy to press wrong soft key

The Motorola Q and T-Mobile Dash aren’t the only games in town if you want a sexy, capable and super-slim Windows Mobile Smartphone with a QWERTY keyboard. The Samsung BlackJack SGH-i607 on Cingular is the newest kid on the block, and Cingular’s second 3G Windows Mobile phone. Samsung BlackJack i607 has HSDPA (currently the fastest flavor of 3G on GSM networks), a 1.3MP camera, Bluetooth 2.0 and a jog wheel that bests the Dash and HTC S620′s JOGGR strip. The Samsung BlackJack i607 is a Windows Mobile 5 Smartphone Edition device, not to be confused with the larger and more powerful Windows Mobile Pocket PC Phone Edition models like the Cingular 8525 (Cingular’s first 3G Windows Mobile phone). Pocket PCs are PDAs first and phones second: they have larger, more PDA-like form factors, touch screens and Mobile versions of the MS Office apps. Hence the Samsung BlackJack i607 lacks a touch screen, is small and comes bundled with a 3rd party MS Office document viewer since it lacks a native Office suite.
