Sprint launched the new Samsung SPH-M800 Instinct, a full touchscreen feature phone that is packed full of high tech and high enjoyment functionality. While somewhat physically large, at 55mm x 116mm x 12.4mm (2.17″ x 4.57″ x 0.49″), the 125g (4.4oz) Instinct doesn’t seem unwieldy at all based on our experience.

For starters of Samsung SPH-M800, the Instinct will support Sprint’s GPS navigation functionality, and that navigation has been integrated with a number of other services on the device, such as the voice enabled Live Search function that lets user find things by simply speaking a word or two into the Samsung SPH-M800 phone. The map data is downloaded to the Samsung SPH-M800 in real time thanks to a speedy EV-DO Rev A network connection that is capable of download speeds as fast as 3.1Mbps and uploads reaching 1.4Mbps. For Samsung SPH-M800 same 3G data connection comes in handy for Sprint’s streaming video Sprint TV and XM Radio services.

Samsung SPH-M800 from Sprint. It appears to be the US CDMA variant of the F490, as the U940 for Verizon is a variant of the F700. Samsung SPH-M800 will have very similar design, candybar with a huge touch display and three buttons on the front side, but Samsung SPH-M800 will have different features and specifications. Unfortunately, the 5-megapixel camera is replaced with a standard 2-megapixel one, and most likely the Croix user interface is replaced with one, matching the carrier’s phones. Currently there are only a few details about the Samsung SPH-M800 phone, including EV-DO support, Stereo Bluetooth and GPS.

The Samsung SPH-M800 will have: 3.5 mm audio jack, 130 MB of internal storage, Samsung SPH-M800 have a nice 3.2 inch screen and memory expansion via microSD. Although the handset has Sprint branding on it, the phone isn’t “really official” yet.
