Samsung D880 DUOS is the first GSM phone from major manufacturer (earlier there were solutions from Chinese brands with contestable qualities) to work with 2 SIM cards at the same time. In standby both cards are active and when dialing, Samsung D880 DUOS asks which one to be used. The two can have different tone for incoming call and when one arrives, the phone says which card (number) it is destined to.

Samsung D880 DUOS that can carry and work with two SIM cards in nothing new really. We’ve seen quite a few such models, but usually made by little known manufacturers and mainly in Asia.
Samsung is planing to bring dual SIM card mobile phones into mainstream in Europe with their Samsung DuoS D880 phone.

Samsung D880 DUOS slider can work with two SIM cards from different operators or support two phone numbers from the same operator.

For Samsung D880 DUOS when you receive the call, the name of the card that for the call flashes on screen and each SIM card can be assigned it’s own ringtone. In case of missed calls, the relevant card is also indicated.

Samsung D880 DUOS is expected to go on sale in November 2007.
