Nokia Supernova Series mobile review
Nokia Supernova Series mobile review

Today Nokia unveiled its newest style-oriented lineup of phones. The Supernova collection has hardly been the industry’s best kept secret (one of the devices is already selling) but its official announcement still gives the fans something to cheer about. There will be as many as four Supernovas, so there is eventually a model which we haven’t seen so far. All of them will be utilizing the S40 UI so smartphone aficionados will be disappointed.
Nokia 7610 Supernova

The flagship of the series is Nokia 7610 Supernova. It comes with a 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera with dual LED flash and a 16M color QVGA screen. The stylish slider will rely on EDGE and GPRS for its data transfers as there is no 3G support available on-board.
A really cool feature of the Nokia 7610 Supernova allows the keypad illumination color and the theme to be changed automatically depending on the current environment. Nokia 7610 Supernova will also feature the old-but-obviously-not-forgotten XpressOn covers. Those allow easy changing of the color of the phone by simply changing its cover. The final extras Nokia 7610 Supernova include stereo Bluetooth (A2DP), microUSB slot and 30MB of internal memory (expandable through the microSD card slot) as well as FM radio with RDS. There are Nokia 7610 Supernova.

Next in line is the only clamshell in the series – the Nokia 7510 Supernova. Nokia 7510 Supernova come with two displays – a 2.2-inch 16M color internal one of QVGA resolution and an external one with a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels. Nokia 7510 Supernova also sports a 2 megapixel snapper (no autofocus here), FM radio, microUSB slot and stereo Bluetooth (A2DP). The internal memory of Nokia 7510 Supernova will be up to 25MB and will be further expandable up to 8GB via the microSD card slot. There are Nokia 7510 Supernova.

A little more expensive than the Nokia 7210 Supernova at €155, the Nokia 7310 Supernova has a very similar specification. The screen of Nokia 7310 Supernova is a little better though, as is the video capture resolution, battery life and the Nokia 7310 Supernova is a little lighter.
There’s also an optional TV output cable for the Nokia 7310 Supernova, but other than that there isn’t much to choose between this and its slightly cheaper sibling. The Nokia 7310 Supernova is available now in certain markets. There are Nokia 7310 Supernova.
Nokia 7210 Supernova

Slated to cost €120 before tax and subsidy, the Nokia 7210 Supernova is the cheapest of the bunch. For that you get a GSM phone with a 2″ 240 x 320 pixel display, microSD expandable memory, Nokia 7210 Supernova come with a 2 megapixel camera, FM radio, media player and Bluetooth.
It’s quite a slim phone at 10.6mm thick, and it weighs around 90 grams including the battery. It looks to be a pretty good value for money handset overall, with quite stylish looks. There are Nokia 7210 Supernova.
The Supernova range are all quite smart looking phones, but a great deal more conventional than what has gone before. One key thing missing is 3G – the Nokia 7510 Supernova and Nokia 7610 Supernova could probably benefit from this, but of course that would have added to the price. We would expect these handsets to sell quite strongly, especially the Nokia 7210 Supernova in the prepay market. There are Nokia Supernova series.
